When We Don’t Understand

So many times in our lives, things happen and we have no answer for them. We wonder if it was chance or the providential hand of God or the evil one causing premature death and destruction on our lives.

When these times come, let us go to Habakkuk 3:17 - Although the fig trees have no blossoms and there are no grapes on the vine, even though the olive crop fails and the fields lie empty and barren, even though the flocks die in the fields and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will be joyful in the God of my salvation.

What will your "even thoughts" be?  What will it take for you to give up, turn your back, walk away from God and quit giving Him praise and honor that he is so worthy to receive? Do you know that is the evil one’s plan.to try you like Job and cause you so much trouble that you will throw up your hands and walk away from the God that made you?

Don't do it. Whatever it takes, do not turn your back and walk away. The devil will win and you will lose everything. Here is a little poem:

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile but you have to sign
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As everyone of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out
Don't give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow
Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell just how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far
So stick to the fight when your hardest hit
It's when things seem worst
that you must not quit.
