In the Church body, many Christians have come down the isles to accept Jesus as their Savior. They get all excited crying, shouting, lifting up their hands and deep down inside they believe they can truly “stay with the Lord”. What they have not done is surrender their past to the Lord. The journey of past life is full of undone things drugs, fornication, gambling, life of adultery, insecurities of mind – which at a point in life come back to tempt you. When we accept Jesus Christ, we are on a new journey and the old way of life should be left behind. We should not let the past get us off focus of our Heavenly destination. We are journeying to that Heavenly place where Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of our Heavenly Father. Right! Say yes!
Shame would cover us without the Lord. The mere failures and limitations of life
cause some of our sisters and brothers in Christ to hang their heads and cover
their faces in shame. I have been there
and done that. They would walk away
from the Church and whatever, the Lord called them to do. We have to humble ourselves under the mighty
hand of God, just as His Son did to the point of death. This is a process that requires one to
surrender and confess it is no longer “I” but the Christ that lives inside of
me. He will guide and teach us in all
righteousness if we allow Him to do so.
David, King of Israel, realized that the enemies of
adultery, helplessness, confusion, and feat existed and that he needed God’s
help and direction. He conveys to us in
Psalm 25:3-5, No one whose hope is in you
will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous
without excuse. Show me your ways, O
Lord, teach me your path;-- for you are God, my savior, and my hope is in you
all day long.(NIV)
David knew that in all he went through the Lord
would be there and that he could turn to the Lord for guidance and
protection. He waited on the Lord who
was able to save him from his enemies.
Remember, David is just one of many in the Bible that dealt with disappoint-
ments in his life, but knew that he could turn to
the Lord. David was a man, yet
he sought to know and love God. What
about us? It is time to wait on the
Lord and seek His directions. God will
renew our strength, so we will not get weary and faint.

About the Book
As I looked around, I saw so many gifted Christians
– spiritually and naturally – fall by the Way.
Why?, because of past sin. Sin will make you ashamed to go on. The key to overcoming is to know we belong
to God and He has our backs.
This Book, “Take
Away the Shame”, I hope will let Christians know you don’t have to be
famous to overcome or tell other Christians about the things you went through
to make it. You can be an ordinary
person – like me – reaching out and telling the World, “through Jesus Christ,
we are conquerors”.
About the Author
Sharron A. Miller, a native of Arkansas, was
schooled at a local high school, Crawfordsville High, where she graduated
Valedictorian of her class. She went to
college at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, AR for 2 years majoring in
Business Education.
She accepted her call to ministry in 1998.
She has always strived to please God.
She is currently attending the Tennessee School of
Religion satellite campus at Old St. Paul Church, West Memphis, AR to obtain a
degree in Theology.
She has three children, Trina, Greg, and Perry. She does outreach work at local Nursing
Homes.
