About the Book

When both parents left their home, the five Wilson kids, three boys and two girls ranging from twenty to twelve years old, were left to fend for themselves. They coped well with some help from Youth on Their Own.

Trouble started when a group of rowdies moved in next door; loud parties, drugs, Sarah’s illness and abduction, the boys in a car chase, and Deena’s encounter with the biggest dog she had ever seen all happened within a short time.

At last, the owners of the house next door returned home, ousted the gang, and began helping the Wilsons solve their problems. Tim’s scientific experiment was successful, the two families became like one, and they heard that Mister Wilson might return within a year.

The Wilsons had high hopes for the future, and only wished that other teens on their own

had as happy an ending as theirs.
