FOR ALL TOMORROWS
On the eve of all tomorrows, sitting by the light
of the moon, Whispering the mysteries of the yet undiscovered, The holy of
holies bearing valor’s merciful light, guides me to the cave of all sins
remembered... On the eve of all tomorrows,
dreaming of the greatest adventure fantasy begs to conceive, Past expectations
the wondrous believe, from the mind I could not retrieve, and the heart, the
sole voyager marooned on the isle of doubt, Is left to grieve... on the eve of
high adventure. For god, for gold, for
glory, my very soul I would venture, The beauty of the people, the spirit of
the land, different colors of the rainbow I would see... living in the ways of
a distant culture; From the wisdom of the ancients I would learn, Forget not the
past lest you deny the future; On the eve of this my greatest folly, abandoning
gentle hopes, All that is pure and lovely, forsaking the love of women, of
friends, of fortune’s favor, I am left to languish, bitter and lonely... The
reckoning is upon me, the journey has come to its end... I pray to glimpse the
light eternal and behold oncemore the pure and lovely,
On the eve of all tomorrows...
EVERYWHERE THE SAME
Upon the terrace of night, cloaked in the darkness
of Hell within, I once did find;
When the moon with her rays did pierce my eyes and carried spirit into my mind;
It is the same imagining, the same dreaming, fortune, friends, and fame;
Frail human hearts, no matter the seeming, everywhere the same!
Upon the way I followed into an abyss, I found the sadness I’d lost fleeing
from shame;
The abyss did glare at me with fear beholding bitter despair; upon the
conscience I rest blame;
From my lips spurt angry words defying not to
surrender the game;
Whatever the feeling, no matter how fleeting, everywhere the same!
Upon the silence of thought I trod, to the realm of ideas wherefore conception
ever shines;
To the far horizons of imagination, glimmering in flames of passion, wherein
want wavers and winds;
I saw beyond the cloud of illusion, the mirror reflecting meaning unto my life,
shadowed by doubts to which truth eternally binds;
Whatever the wishing, no matter believing, everywhere the same!
Upon clouds of fortune’s rains I mounted, I fancied myself a gatherer of
clouds, which delusion my soul did blind;
Pursuing the truth within me, I came before the reality of outer worlds, and to
victory over darkness I laid claim;
The darkness of despair pursued, chasing me into a dream, and I knew not if as
mind I dreamed I was spirit, or whether as spirit I dreamed I was mind;
Whatever the thinking, no matter the dreaming, everywhere the same!
Upon my troubles I rested, presuming myself a source of right and so delude
heaven’s masters, forever faithful and kind;
Humanity did appeal, that I forsake the mortal body and of bliss I pray
partake, abandoning hope for the challenge I once climbed;
I swallowed misery, then wrested savagely the terror that menaced my hopes,
when with grace, the terror that menaced, I did finally tame--
What is truth, everywhere the same? Ah,
truth, no matter the meaning,
Everywhere the same!
HERE I STAND
How beautiful the night as I gaze unto the stars,
believing I
am one with the Cosmos!
Moments like these I feel possessed of omnipotence and
reach forth my hand to grasp the world.
Here I stand to proclaim: I am one with the Cosmos!
Why the dread of night should restrain you from taking your
desires to the place of fate, dare not to say.
Nature has lost; I have won, so now I am master of Fate!
Here I stand, I cannot fiddle but I can make a great state from
A tiny city! There is no longer mystery in life--
Only cold-blooded explanation for what
I cannot feel.
Nature has fled, I am left desolate and full of dread for what fate befalls the
night!
Man is in control, hence the paradox that I feel helpless
Before the world; Omnipotence lives in the idea that is
The Cosmos, and it rests in my belief.
Give me a place to stand that I might change the World!
The tiny city is the only great state of which I know, thus I stand
to fiddle away the hours while awaiting the return of Night.
The world may change me with the beauty of the
living mystery;
Thus, here I stand, to be one with the Cosmos!
