About the Book

Do you believe it is better to give than to receive?  Many of us do in principle. But, how well do we apply it?  Do you ever feel that you would like to serve others more, to be a more giving person, but you feel you sometimes lack the opportunity?  There are so many opportunities to give.  We just need to recognize them.  Examples are a great way to learn, and this book is full of them.

Giving: A Recipe for Love and Life is the first in The Menu Book Series.  The series explores various ingredients that can enrich our lives.  Giving:  A Recipe for Love and Life shares individual acts of giving that have made differences in the lives of many people.  These simple acts of giving have not made the headlines in any newspapers.  However, these acts have made the headlines in the hearts of those who received help during their moment of need.  Many of us see giving as an important and essential characteristic that makes us who we are, and/or who we are striving to become.

This book may not serve you anything that you have not tasted, eaten, enjoyed or not enjoyed.  However, it does allow you to taste a variety of ingredients for serving up simple acts of giving.  These ingredients consist of notes, letters, quotes and scriptures that will hopefully assist you in improving and expanding your own recipes for giving.  This book will assist you in satisfying the hungry pallid that continues to crave those acts that will make a positive difference in your life and the life of others.  Bon Appetit!

About the Author

LaNae Harris is a person who loves to see others enjoy life.  Understanding that all things are not equal, she has the greatest respect for the results of giving as she knows that helping someone in need presents opportunities that would not be available without another stepping in to help.

She is not financially rich, however, she is extremely rich as her heart is truly made of gold.  She is very sincere when she writes that those little things that each of us does for each other in our day-to-day lives do make a difference in our quality of life. She uses a unique and creative way to assist people in seeing the infinite scope of giving and the impact that it serves both the giver and receiver.

After receiving her Masters in Education, Guidance and Counseling, LaNae worked at a Drug Rehabilitation Facility associated with Bethany Hospital in Chicago.  After a little over four years, she transitioned into the corporate world where she spent the last nine of her twenty-three as a Systems Director in the northern suburbs of Illinois.

Today LaNae is retired from the corporate world.  She uses her time improving her quality of life as well as better defining her character by perfecting one of the ingredients that make up her purpose for living, that of giving.
