The book reflects historical times, after the Second World War and the Hungarian Revolution in 1956. We get a first hand account of the sufferings and abuses of the communist regime. He was involved in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. As a result, he became a marked man for reprisal. He had to escape Hungary and via Austria he arrived into the New World America, where he asked for and was granted political asylum. All these events and those that followed, including personal encounters with physicians, soldiers, politicians, friends good and bad, courageous and cowards, smart and mindless are recalled in a true lifelike manner with an understanding and open mind.


About the Author

Dr. Louis  Kasza, author of the book "Hardships of an Exiled Cancer Researcher," lived in six countries, whose political establishments range from extreme dictatorships to great democracies.  He spent his lifetime with medical research and teaching at universities.  More than one hundred scientific publications provide testimony for his professional contributions.  He concentrated his scientific work on cancer research; in addition, he discovered 12 previously unknown viruses, including tumor inducing ones.  The international and the scientific communities registered some viruses after his name. He received several appraisements, among them is the American Cancer Society's Eleonor Rooswelt and  the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's prestigious Seifter awards.  The author became a political dissenter in his native land.  He found refuge in the United States, where democracy assures freedom for all.  The love of two women left unerasable memories in his life.  A bomb from a Russian aircraft killed his fiancée on Christmas Day in 1944.  His wife, was taken by cancer.  He reports on his arduous life in a book "The Hardships of an Exiled Cancer Researcher" in over 400 pages.  The book reflects on historical times after the Second World War.
