About the Book

Field Of Angels written by Janet Ritchie is a testament to the personal trials, tribulations, and sometimes wild and comical adventures she has had the unique opportunity to experience during her lifetime. One of the poems, which she wrote for her sister and soul mate, was transformed into an inspirational song and placed on a recent charity holiday CD project initiated by Ritchie and her friend and partner Beverly Bateman. The song is appropriately titled "My Angel" and is on the Let There Be Love compilation charity CD. After posting several poems including "My Angel" on several websites she received almost 100,000 hits and over 3,000 e-mails.

These pages present proof that you can succeed in a world where in building a business, even the odds against you seem to indicate you haven't a chance. Ritchie was recently signed by Alphalam, Inc., Orlando, Florida for her outstanding "Poetry on Plaques." These are winning accolades from local retailers. Orders for her work are coming in on the Internet, as well. She has developed her own website at www.JRGodstypist.com, which is a platform to showcase her original poems that focus on life's lessons and little mysteries.

The partnership between Alphalam, Inc. and Janet Ritchie is a milestone in the adventure she calls Life, and it is a "dream come true" for her. This is a woman who had lost everything but never seized upon this as an excuse for giving up. Instead, inspite of any obstacles, she has continued to strive for artistic freedom and success. At 60 years of age, she is once again building on her considerable writing strengths. She thought a few people might take an interest in her tempestuous but fascinating life. More than a few did. In fact, they came in droves! From all this came her "Poetry On Plaques" which are unique in that they are customized with poetry, graphics and photography specifically designed for the buyer, thus, very often "one of a kind" works, incorporating personal elements from each Buyer's life. The poems in this book are also available on these plaques.

For more information on the author or where you can find her line of plaques visit her web site at www.jrgodstypist or e-mail her at Godstypist@aol.com Her poems are posted on www.goodtimes2.com and www.eakles.com

About the Author

Throughout the ages, poetry exists in many forms and is a venue for expression, communication, enlightenment, entertainment and soul-searching. The enclosed works of Janet Ritchie represent a few of life's lessons that will stir remembrances of good things somehow lost or long forgotten. Each work reflects a life experience that, in some cases, took many years to fully understand or appreciate. Be prepared to laugh with great joy, perhaps shed a tear, even be angered and outraged, but most of all, prepare to remember all the goodness in the tapestry of life that so easily gets lost in living.

Ritchie will take you where you want to go. She may also take you where you may not want to be, but being there will remind you how much better off you are/or could be. It certainly reminds me of how we all change and how change, the only consistency in this life, can shape our lives. The works are "mind candy". The entire spectrum of human emotion is here, in a delightful, sometimes thought-provoking, sometimes painful, procession. With the skill of a craftsman, Ritchie writes from her heart and each work is accompanied by the true experience that inspired it.

As her friend for many years, I know the multifaceted author. She has been an inspiration to my own life. The mother of two daughters, and "Nana" to four beautiful grandchildren, she knows the struggles, joys, pain and heartache that only a mother can know. But she won't drown you in it. In all the years I have known her, she has always wanted to express herself in her poetry but, like many of us, lacked the confidence to do what we do best. And like so many of us, she found that confidence from the people around her who gave meaning to her life and encouraged and fostered her talent. While we will never agree in a million years, I believe she has earned so much love because she gives so much of it.

Janet Ritchie hails from the Boston area. She founded the "Tcitizens For Tsongas" grassroots campaign for the late Senator Paul Tsongas in 1992 and worked for many years in the television industry. In recent years, she founded Underdog Studios, Inc. where she devoted countless time and endless energy helping young talented people, without the resources, to realize their dream of making themselves known to the public. She CO-founded "The Mind Factory, Inc." with her daughter Debbie, developing products that help children deal with childhood fears in a healthy and fun way. Their "Monsters Be Gone Original Bedtime Survival Kit" for children received national attention on ABC-TV's "Rosie O'Donnell Show" in June 2000 and enjoys national retail distribution. Singing sensation Mandy Moore starred in the video "Monsters Be Gone." Janet currently resides in Orlando, Florida and is currently producing plaques and greeting cards featuring her writing. As only she can say in her own, inimitable way, "Only you can make the impossible--possible. Never give up on your dreams." You'll find her poetry a road map of your heart. Prepare to have it gently opened.
