About the Author
Donna Castle has focused her life on teaching others. She has been an educator for over thirty-five years. She began teaching as a Romper Room teacher on a small television station in Western Oklahoma. Her teaching career has progressed from teaching young children to training adults as educators. She has dedicated her life to supporting others in planning curriculum and instruction that focuses on developing quality educational programs for young children. She has been a college professor for over thirty years. During the past decade, her career has integrated both research and training in the field of literacy with a special focus on family literacy. In addition, she has developed a literacy training program that has helped many children move to higher levels of literacy. This program has been highlighted for exemplary practices nationally. Donna disseminates a research based family literacy project nationally that support programs in refining and improving their quality. Donna has been married for over thirty-five years and has a grown son and daughter. She has lived in Edmond, Oklahoma for the past eighteen years.
