About the Book

A TRUE AMERICAN TRILOGY
NOMINATED FOR A PULITZER PRIZE!
THREE BOOKS IN ONE!

“A great story, told by a master storyteller.  I laughed and I cried.  Destined to become a bestseller!”

Larry King

“Ribbons of Concrete is a gut wrenching and incredible first novel featuring one man’s journey into hell.  His uncanny sense of style, with description, pathos, and storytelling are truly remarkable.  Only someone who actually lived this odyssey could pen such memories, and it makes Kerouac’s “On the Road” seem like a poor man’s “Dick and Jane.”

Steven Chamberlin-Editor

“A warm and remarkable story of a man’s heart and soul.  A chronicle of his crusade to redeem not only himself, but the mortal lives and futures of others.  The book is a beautiful journey into the mind and desperate times of Jack Vink.  A must read for anyone who takes the precious gifts of love and life for granted.  I found myself wanting to reach out and rescue him.”

Mary-Anne Elwood

“The story takes you places you don’t want to leave as you are caught up in the adventure and mishaps of this banished man.  You won’t want to set the novel down to leave this man alone for a minute.  It captured my heart and soul.”

Laurie Berger-Jackson PhD

“Ribbons of Concrete is one of the most interesting book I ever had the pleasure to read.  It is an intriguing story rich in romance, love, heartache and personal tragedy.  Jack Vink is very talented and has a successful future ahead of him as a writer.”

Linda K. Rowe-Writer Anonymous

“A modern day Ulysses, right out of Homer’s Odyssey, traveling the backroads of America in a 1952 MG.  Like Ulysses, he is trying to get home to his true love but first must encounter many trials and tribulations that await him.
What great storytelling, truly remarkable!

John Ford

About the Author

During my travels I have seen things that go unnoticed by others.  Snow on red roses, rain falling from a clear blue sky and double rainbows so bright a feeling of exultation fills your heart.  I have stopped to watch woods fill up with snow in the quietness of nature.  I have slept under the heavenly stars that shine so brightly in the dark of night, you become aware, that a greater power does exist.  I have slept in the deepest of forest that have filled up my senses with black clouds racing past a crescent moon above.  Unafraid, I listened to the music of the night that comes from within its shadows.  I have walked ridgelines where prospectors from a bygone era have walked before me.  Like a child, I have chased dust cyclones dancing across the desert floor and have seen the most frightful violent storms come and go.  I have looked into the eyes of angels and been chased by the devil himself!

Circumstances make me travel the back roads of America for the rest of my life. A nomadic existence from which there is no escape, at least, not for me.  I did not choose this lifestyle, it was forced upon me.  I live everywhere and nowhere.  The stars are my roof, the sun is my blanket and in the dark of night, I write the words that may change your life forever.  I seek the most-noble cause in the universe, “true love.”  A person that makes the summer fly or a night seem like a lifetime.  Somewhere out there, my other perfect half waits.

I am on a quest, searching for the truth of life.

Enjoy the read.
