Ping-Pong
When our children were little, and we lived in another house, we were able to acquire a pool. It was such an exciting time for us. I remember my husband, Fred and my brother, Rick were so excited that they took every screw driver that Fred had in his tool box and made an outline of the pool. The design of the pool was in three circles connected to each other. The circles were graduated in such a way that it looked like a snowman. The largest circle was twenty-two feet in circumference, the second circle was twelve feet, and the third circle was ten feet. This was also the shallow end.
What an exciting day it was when they started digging the pool. All of our friends and family came to watch. They were just as excited as we were. On the day the plaster was put into the pool, it was an extra special day. I watched as the hose was put into the bottom, the water was clear and then it began to change to a blue topaz. Now as I think about it, I think of JESUS being the living water and the blue being HIS color.
All of the children put their handprints into the cement. We, the adults, knew what we were going to do on hot days.
Fred built what he called his cabana next to it and built a little bar into it. He then placed a cooling system for all the cold drinks. This became the hang out for neighbors, friends, and family. On weekends and holidays you could always find us there.
The yard was pie-shaped and very large. A ping-pong table was set up and if you weren’t in the water, this is what you would probably be doing. Or you might be sitting around the small circle with your feet dangling in the water. On one particular day, this was exactly what was happening. Sam, a friend, and Rick my brother were playing ping-pong, the rest of us were sitting on the coping that surrounds the pool. And I might add there wasn’t an inch that wasn’t being sat on by one person or another.
Rick has two daughters who were very young at the time. I don’t remember their ages, I would say they were just toddlers, especially Mindy. Sam hit the ball and the wind carried it. It fell into the middle of the small circle. When Rick went into the water to retrieve it, lo and behold, there was Mindy beneath the surface. The ball had fallen just above her head. No one knew that Mindy was on the bottom of the pool. When he reached in and drew her out of the water it was a complete shock to everyone. Especially for the ones that were sitting on the coping. He examined her and she was all right, Praise GOD. Talking to my brother about the incident a few days ago, he shared with me that he had many nightmare nights dreaming about it. He kept dreaming that she was face down in the pool and had drowned. Thank the LORD, it was only a dream.
We most heartily thank the LORD for the wind carrying that ping-pong ball, directing my brother to his daughter.
Note: In reference to the Blue mentioned of being GOD’S color. When GOD gave the instruction for building the Holy of Holies, where he was to dwell, he gave four colors to use. They were Red, White, Blue, and Purple. Knowing the LORD and his complexity for meanings each color means more than one thing. And the LORD said to Moses, "Say to the people of Israel: Throughout the generations to come you must make tassels for the hems of your clothing attach the tassels at each corner with a blue cord. The tassels will remind you of the commands of the LORD, and that you are to obey his commands instead of following your own desires and going your own ways, as you are prone to do. The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your GOD. I am the LORD your GOD who brought you out of the land of Egypt that I might be your GOD. I am the LORD your GOD." (Nu. 15:37-41) NLT

I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and how this came to be written. The LORD gave me the title to this book approximately thirty years ago. Never in all of my dreams, did I want to become a writer. I can’t say that I really have. All of the accounts that I’m putting down had to be orchestrated by divine Providence. They certainly have not been my ideas. It is not a book on telling you how to run your life. How can someone who cannot control his own life do that? What I would like to do is share the events that have happened over the years. These events have been so astounding that if I didn’t share them I would have no peace. "Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the LORD hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee." (Mark 5:19) KJV
I have learned that to love JESUS is not a one way street. From the beginning he has created and loves us. (Psalm 139) Love is an action word. This is where the simplicity comes in. To love you must become as a child. I am now a great grand-mother. In loving HIM, I am a child. If a child can understand HIM, then his doctrine must be simple. A child loves, trusts, and delights in the person that love them. No human being in this world can ever, or will, take HIS place. "But I fear, lest by any means as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in CHRIST." (11 Cor. 11:3)KJV
It has been said that we worship GOD in spirit. Yes, this true. Nevertheless, the are many other things to be considered. Is there a GOD? Yes, the proof is in the pudding, as some people would say. The proof is in the tangible. So where does this tangible stuff begin? With you and me.
We live, laugh, cry, and have the knowledge that someday we are going to die. However, do we? My mind cannot fathom the idea that after death there is nothing. The thought of never seeing my husband and loved ones again is devastating.
The great "I AM" has proven to me often that all is not lost. :Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come into him , and sup with him, and he with me." (Rev. 3:20) KJV Take this information literally, my friend because it is true. There’s only one way to find out. Tradition sometimes gets in the way. So does listening to other people’s advise. As an individual, you have to travel alone. This is a one on one situation. No matter how hard you try to deny this, eventually you will have to agree with me. It may take a lifetime, and then again, you may have already opened the door of your heart. If you have then you are on a fantastic journey, and will never be alone. How do I know this? Hopefully with stories that are being shared, you’ll walk down memory lane and find that he has always been in your life also. Favoritism is not HIS cup of tea. "For GOD does not show favoritism."
