About the Book
High school life. Days passing like most others do at seventeen. Waiting for classes to end, complaining about homework, dealing with nagging parents, gossiping with friends, hearing about who is saying what behind whose back, fantasizing about crushes and wondering if they even know you exist and so on. One day trickles into the next and you worry that the monotony might never end. BAM! A big moment unexpectedly occurs altering everything you knew before in one instant. No one is immune. What if all the tables turned?
Six individuals start out this way; wading through the trials and tribulations of another typical day. Then something larger than imaginable is introduced in one simple dream drawing them together and slowly isolating them from the safe world they have always known.
There is no turning back following this moment. What's important is what comes next. How do they react in the aftermath? How will it change them?
The first installment of this series describes how the main characters are brought together by circumstances out of their control and how they begin to deal with their evolving relationships with each other and with the situation they become trapped in as the mystery unfolds.
About the Author
Diana Valenti hails from West Caldwell, New Jersey and this is her first attempt as an author. She has written stories as a hobby since the age of five but today is striving to make writing more central in her life.
Try to keep main concepts basic and then unfold a unique journey. This is the focus Diana uses as initial inspiration. There are aspects of life everyone experiences, even if outcomes vary. For instance, characters in high school are relatable; most individuals have or will go through it.
Another commonality is a curious fascination with life changing moments. The way people manage to move on and readjust to the strange new life that is created in the aftermath of a "big moment" shapes who they will become. Lives are altered indelibly and no one can escape such moments.
As a psychology major in college, Diana gained an interest in the interaction and connections of people leading to another main point in her stories-exploring relationships forged in various stages of life. Why do individuals become involved and have the capability to so strongly influence others' feelings and actions?
Hopefully, through our similarities, individuals will gain an appreciation for the struggles of others.
