I refer to the pages in this devotional as "writings"-- The first writing came while having a telephone conversation with my dearest friend, DWR*. During this conversation, I said something and she said I must write a poem about those thoughts. I told her I had never been able to write a poem in all my life. She kept insisting; I kept refusing. Finally she said "Promise me you will put these thoughts down on paper as soon as we hang up."
I promised and went to my typewriter. As soon as I put my fingers on the keyboard my fingers flew and in a few minutes I had filled the 8 1/2 x 11 page! I pulled the page out and was amazed to read it! I rushed to the phone and shared it with her. The Lord generously entitled this first writing "Your Gift". It is about the gift of LIFE which Almighty God gives each of us so lovingly-- That was the first of over 560 writings.
As our Lord continued bringing them forth, I could see that they continually reflected praise, thanksgiving and gratitude to Him -- They were filled with messages to us to try to understand His LOVE and also His Forgiveness for us-- Several of the writings had actual circumstances surrounding them-- Many of them have been encouraging, especially to those who did not know much about Jesus Christ as Savior-- God has used them in amazing ways to bring miracles about--
DWR and I had another dear sister through Jesus - CAP. She is now with our dear Jesus in her Heavenly Home. As the writings came and I would share them with these two loving Christians they encouraged me to continue to listen to the Lord. CAP was the first one to speak about making a daily devotional. She would always ask me what number I had just finished (I always numbered them). When I would tell her, she would get so excited and tell me that the time was getting closer to publication!
My Pastor RWB was the first person to talk about having them printed as I had well over 400 at the time. He suggested putting a Scripture with each writing. Thank You Pastor, for your encouragement--
I felt that I needed someone deeply experienced in the Lord, and in the Scriptures, to critique the writings. A dear lady, SHO, suggested several ladies’ names, and one of those ladies recommended MS. I spoke to her on the phone. We agreed to pray for a month to see if the Lord was calling her to be connected with me in preparing the writings for publication. Without reading any of them MS called and said that the Lord had put on her heart to become part of this work. When she first read some of the writings, she suggested putting a Scripture on each of them. Immediately I told her that it was a confirmation from the Lord! MS has been faithfully working with me for over three years.
*(Initials are used rather than names)
Another of my very dear friends, MCF, has been very supportive of these writings since I met her over six years ago. I am so grateful to the countless others who have been supportive to me over the years. Thank You, dear Lord Jesus, for bringing to me those You knew would be encouragers.
My name will not be connected with this devotional. Many years ago the Lord let me know that my name was not to be used. He gave me the pen name "Grace Love".
Some years later while in the hospital due to a heart problem, a dear friend, NRM, called me and told me that God was going to give me a new heart. While I was in the hospital records indicated that there was an unexplainable change in my heart! Just as NRM had said, God gave me a new heart! Years later, God inserted "Newheart" into my pen name and it is now Grace Newheart Love.
May you be encouraged to listen to the Lord and obey whatever He may tell you to do-- As our dear Savior said in John 15:9 – "When you obey me you are living in my love, just as I obey my Father and live in his love." May we all continue to live in His love-- -- --

NOTES TO THE READER
Upon rereading these writings, I am continually aware of the constancy of exclaiming to God our Father and Jesus His Son, my thankfulness to them! Gratitude seems to be one of the themes. His Forgiveness and unconditional LOVE also flow through. This is so that we understand how deep His special LOVE is for each one of us--
There has been a long span of time between the first writing and the latest one. The Lord was teaching me as the years passed by. The writing "Guiding Light" on March 23rd reflects this, along with several others.
The word LOVE is capitalized when it refers to God’s LOVE because it is so much greater than we can grasp! The word LIFE is also capitalized, for it is a precious gift from God. In specific writings other words may also be capitalized or printed in bold for emphasis.
Only once did the Holy Spirit bring forth a sequence of writings. This started with Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter. He began a series of writings about Our Lord. These were as follows: My Lord’s Feet, My Lord’s Face, My Lord’s Hands, My Lord’s Body, My Lord’s Blood, Our Crucified Lord, Rest in Peace, Lord, and Glory, Alleluia! These along with other writings for special days are included in the back of the book. These are listed in the section "Special Days".
On some of the writings you will notice words which are in quotes and in Script. These are the words the Lord spoke so specifically to me that it was almost audible. His direct words to me are difficult to explain and it was necessary for them to be given special emphasis.
The majority of the Scriptures quoted are from the Living Bible. If any other version has been used, it is indicated in parenthesis after the Bible reference.
"WOW" can stand for several ways of describing God! It can stand for Without Words – for there are no words to adequately describe Him! It can also stand for Wonder of Wonders, which our awesome God surely is--
Where an exclamation point is used, it is a reminder to be excited about what the Lord is accomplishing! At the end of many sentences there are three dots-- These are to encourage you to pause and meditate about what was just expressed--
