About the Book

A railway crossing, a headlight, an oncoming train, and a man standing paralyzed in its path.

Joseph is in mortal danger, and his “mind” is computing escape solutions...

Joseph Graybar, an FBI special agent lands in India to apprehend a criminal from the United States, and finds himself in the middle of a violent world, where the local police are hot on the heels of a gang of outlaws. His quarry, an Indian citizen, becomes the newest member of this gang, and raises the stake by a personal wager with the head outlaw, an illiterate cutthroat with an immense ego.

Stuck in a foreign land with strange customs, and even stranger situations, Joseph becomes an impotent bystander, as the wager exacerbates from one gory act to another. The murder of a local movie actor can only be bested by an assassination attempt on a much grander scale; embroiling in its wake a homosexual commando, a scheming politician and a vengeful madam.

To add to Joseph’s frustration, a long-standing stomach ailment turns into a painful gastric ulcer requiring immediate treatment.

His Indian counterpart suggests a local research institution and Joseph agrees to try it, albeit reluctantly as he is doubtful of local medical expertise.

To his surprise, not only is he quickly cured of his ulcer, but is introduced to an astonishing world of international cutting-edge research where Indian know-how and American expertise blend to produce revolutionary remedies.  His physician, Dr. Krishna, introduces him to a visiting American, Dr. Redding, and Joseph gradually discovers that the two physicians comprise a dynamic team who complement each others strengths - Dr. Krishna's judicious conservatism tempering the brilliant genius of Dr. Redding, in their unorthodox quest to alleviate human suffering.

Little does Joseph realize that soon he will become an active participant in a radical experiment involving a brain implant...

About the Author

Born in India, the land of snake charmers and computer specialists, the author led a typical middle-class childhood, filled with yearning for distant lands and adventure, fueled by a tremendous passion for reading action-packed novels.

Many were the times that his teachers caught him reading paperbacks illicitly hidden within textbooks while pretending to be immersed in homework. They confiscated his precious hoard of literature - Alistair MacLean, Fredrick Forsyth, Jack Higgins, Michael Crichton, James Hadley Chase, Harold Robbins, Erle Stanley Gardner, Clive Cussler and Ian Fleming to name a few!

While India molded the early years of his life, dazzling him with vibrant colors, tantalizing aromas and a zest for variety while bestowing upon him a Bachelors degree in Electronics engineering; the exotic land of his books came truly alive when he landed in the United States, a country which provided him with sophisticated beauty, awesome opportunities, a Master’s degree in Engineering, and a career as a telecommunications engineer garnished with five US patents.

Blessed with this bipolar background he set about creating a novel which blends action, adventure, science and differing cultures in an attempt to cross-pollinate views between Indians and Americans through popular fiction.

Now an American citizen settled in a suburb of Atlanta, the author is married to a wonderful wife, and has two precious daughters, one who attends the Georgia Institute of Technology while the other shines in a middle school nearby. He enjoys building electronic gadgets, networking with local writers and enjoying life in friendly Georgia.
