"Who braided your hair when you were little? Were your braids tight or loose?" asked this therapist, over the top of her small, reading glasses. I sat facing my therapist’s questions wondering what significance childhood memories had to do with her urgent phone call. Earlier in the week, she phoned requesting I come to her office, to discuss an important development regarding my treatment. Due to a severe chest cold and rainy, cooler temperatures I declined. Now, I was more than anxious to know what pressing matter warranted an extra session with a refusal of any further discussion, over the phone... Skillfully, my therapist drove home the point I knew very little about my childhood, as well as, other present day events and it was becoming obvious that I was losing time. Even more disturbing, if I wasn’t accountable for events, who was? More to the point, who was taking over in my absence? Flashbacks from disconcerting conversations whirled in my mind of which friends described my behavior as childlike or infantile. There was no mistaking their descriptions weren’t of the thirty eight year old woman they knew! Even more frightening, I had no memory of the behaviors they recounted! "You are trying to tell me I’m multiple." I stated as I turned from the wall and faced her, looking directly into her peaceful eyes. "Yes." was her unwanted answer. Trembling, I staggered to my chair wanting facts and information about my disorder. Numbly, I listened to my therapist educate me.

About the Author
Diagnosed with Multiple Personality/Identity Disorder, Abigail has helped pioneer the frontiers of Satanic ritual abuse when little data was available for treatment. At the persuasion of her therapist, she began writing and drawing for publications and became involved in numerous projects throughout her recovery years. Her artwork has traveled throughout the United States to various Mental Health and teaching seminars, as well as, published in several issues of Many Voices. Her work also includes Dr. Walter Young, M.D. and Bob Larson’s video, In Satan’s Name, where the evils and recovery of ritual abuse are graphically exposed. Several articles within this book have appeared in Many Voices, Healing Woman and MENDING OURSELVES. With joy and laughter, Abigail impacts her audiences as she shares her testimony, journey and her Christian faith in Mental Health seminars, religious retreats and youth summits. Today she enjoys a fulfilling life with her husband and her adult children. A variety of interests hold her attention in the sports of hiking and swimming while she enjoys hobbies of gardening, sewing, collecting Ginny Dolls and shelling. Dedicated to seeing the captive set free and the brokenhearted healed, she fulfills her destiny by offering hope and deliverance to the suffering.
