A Moment in Time Waiting silently and patiently, It was a moment like no other moment in time. I was traveling south on Interstate 59 from Fort Payne, Alabama, to the University of Alabama to meet, once again, with the statistician regarding the statistics for my dissertation research. I had prayed from the time I left Fort Payne until I arrived, three hours later, at a Cracker Barrel to refresh myself before the meeting. I savored the last piece of the apple bran muffin, drank the last drop of coffee, left a tip, paid the cashier and was walking through the double doors of the Cracker Barrel, when I heard the words, "Walk in the light of his spirit." I laughed and said to myself, "This sounds like a song." And then in the next moment, I heard the words, "Walk in the light of his love." "This is a song," I said aloud, "this is a song!" I ran to my car, unlocked the door, retrieved a writing pad, and began writing the words to what would soon be a song. I wrote throughout the day and by the next day, I had written the following song, "Walking." Walking Walk in the light of His spirit. Walking, Walking, Walking in His love. Isaiah of old in the Bible we’re told Walking, Walking, Walking in His love, Jesus told His disciples before He ascended They were all assembled in one place Walking, Walking, Walking in His love. Now, you don’t have to worry, Walking, Walking, Walking in His love
but expectantly in a pen in God’s hand,
waiting for that moment when the pen
moves across the pages,
bursting forth in words never linked
together as expressions of his creation
until this moment,
unlike any moment in time,
a moment birthing a chain of moments,
a chain of expressions released in the
heart, mind, and soul of your moment.
Walk in the light of His love.
Walk in the light of Jesus’ name.
Bring down power from heaven above.
You don’t have to worry.
You don’t have to fret.
If you’ll just call on Jesus’ name,
He will surely answer yet.
Walking, Walking, Walking in the power from above.
Was led by God’s own hand.
The Messiah would come
With a mighty host of a heavenly angel band.
He didn’t have to worry.
He didn’t have to fret
Cause he had faith in a mighty God
Who would surely answer yet.
Walking, Walking, Walking in the power from above.
He would send them a guiding hand,
Called the Holy Spirit, Comforter, Counselor,
He would be their constant friend.
They didn’t have to worry.
They didn’t have to fret
Cause they had faith in a mighty Jesus
Who would surely answer yet.
Walking, Walking, Walking in His love,
Walking, Walking, Walking in the power from above.
On the day of Pentecost.
The Holy Spirit descended from heaven above
Empowering them all.
They didn’t have to worry.
They didn’t have to fret,
Cause they had faith in the Holy Spirit
And now He filled them all.
Walking, Walking, Walking in the power from above
You don’t have to fret,
If you have faith in the Holy Trinity,
He will surely answer yet.

About the Book
"Moments in Time: Enabled by the Holy Spirit, Moment by Moment" embodies the essence of the human spirit. Like a sleeping giant, it moves slightly when challenged by surrounding forces, however, reclining, returning to its dormant state as if to sleep forever, when forces relax. The human spirit, however, like the sleeping giant is created for a purpose, beyond the realms of human understanding. It is this realm of understanding that the human spirit seeks solace, strength, and guidance to rise again and again, challenged "moment by moment" by now familiar forces, reclining less, returning less to its dormant state when somewhere in time, that "moment in time," begins to soar to the realms of understanding, meeting and greeting the Creator of them both. It is this Creator, the God of all moments in time who birthed the songs, poems, and devotions, called, "Golden Moments" throughout this book. Moments in Time, Enabled by the Holy Spirit, Moment by Moment presents "moment by moment" challenges that will challenge and stir your spirit, the spirit that now lies dormant, waiting to seek solace and guidance from God, its Creator.
About the Author
Dr. Laura Ann Golden is endowed with various gifts and talents identified with the following labels: daughter, sister, wife, mother-in-law, student, teacher, entrepreneur, professor, songwriter, poet, and Christian, however, the label she most appreciates is person, "with purpose." Her poem, "With Purpose," appears in The International Library of Poetry's, anthology of poetry, "The Harvest of Dreams," and recorded in "The Sounds of Poetry." Her writing has evolved over time, from her first research paper, to articles in a mission newsletter, to a research dissertation, and currently, the songs, poems, and devotions in "Moments in Time." She is the founder of Golden Moments Ministries, a writing ministry encouraging a "moment to moment" relationship with God and also a member of the Randall's Chapel United Methodist Church in Scottsboro, Alabama.
