About the Book

This book vividly describes the circumstances surrounding highly publicized personality-news events that occurred recently. Constant publicity stimulated the public’s interest and remained newsworthy for extended periods. At times, certain personality-news events still "re-run" in the media.

Robert S. McNamara, ex Secretary of Defense, attempted to atone for failing to curtail the detested Vietnam War and was highly criticized by veterans for his deception. O. J.’s trial high points are recapped including prosecution boo boo’s, defense strategies and assorted reactions. The abrupt conclusion of Kelly Flinn’s promising career as a B-52 pilot is described as a personal tragedy that might have been avoided.

China’s President Zemin’s trade trip coup to the U. S. toady, corporate "mucky mucks" bowing and begging for its potentially vast market, Hillary Clinton’s self-serving, highly orchestrated three-day birthday celebration in three cities and Louise Woodward’s agonizing "au pair" experience with baby Matthew Eappen and ensuing trial are discussed.

NBA cager Latrell Sprewell's twin assaults on Coach Carlesimo with its charitable resolution, John Glenn’s geriatric return to space amid widespread political criticism and Clinton’s trade-vacation return trip to China considered as "quid pro quo" by many are detailed.

Also described are Hillary’s amateur diagnosis of hubby’s "problems" with women, President Clinton’s "politically questioned" granting of clemency to jailed Puerto Rican terrorists and the Senate’s rejection of the nuclear test ban treaty considered extremely detrimental to the U. S.

In addition, the politicization of EgyptAir’s Flight 990 Crash and its abruptly curtailed news coverage, Clinton’s refusal to attend "striking down the U. S. flag" ceremonies and inaction on returning the Panama Canal to Panama (and China) plus the pathetic use of Elian Gonzalez as a political pawn are related.
