About the Book

This book was written to dazzle children ages 3 (with the assistance of their parents) through 10 years. This is an adventure book, but it is also an entertaining and educational book about two newly born coyotes that explore their world through the author’s imagination. The book is very interesting and extraordinary because throughout it the author is constantly encouraging interaction from the reader by asking "Guess What" questions and making "Did You Know" statements about the different characters and animals in the book.

The author gives factual details about animals, which helps the reader learn things he/she may not already know. The facts learned from the book can be shared with friends, schoolmates, relatives, or can be brought up in casual conversations. The reader will follow Byron and Max, the two main characters in the book, in and out of difficult situations and eventually learn a valuable lesson we all can agree upon.

About the Author

As a boy, I daydreamed many of times about exciting adventures of secluded places. I guess you could say I had, and still have a wild imagination that I would like to share with the world through my books.

My name is Milton Davis and I am a native of the wide-open space of south Texas. I was born in Grayburg, Texas, (a population of approximately 200 people at the time) at 3:00AM on June 21, 1945. I was the fifth child of nine born to Mitchell and Iris Davis. My family moved to Huston, Texas, when I was seven years old.

I am married to Doris Marie Davis. We have one daughter, two sons, and three grandsons, all the love of my life. I attended B.H. Grimes Elementary and graduated in 1959, after which I attended Evans E. Worthing Junior/Senior High and completed my studies in 1964. I began my undergraduate studies at Texas Southern University and Houston Community College where along the way I acquired a Texas Real Estate License.

In 1979 my wife enlisted in the United States Army and we moved to Tacoma, Washington. I enrolled in Pierce College and in May 1981, I earned an Associate Degree in Business. In September 1981 we were transferred to Fort Greely, Alaska. In 1983, I attended Central Texas College in Alaska and completed an Associate Degree in General Studies. In November 1983 we returned to Houston, Texas. I enrolled in Liberty University where in September of 1991 I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. I continued on to graduate school at Liberty University and in January of 1995 I earned my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. In 1999 I acquired my Real Estate Brokers’ License and started my own business under the name of Gemini & Associates Realtors.

During the exciting and amazing time I spent in Alaska my fertile mind went into overdrive. I was in close proximity with wild animals, such as bears, moose, and elk that are responsible for some of the inspiration in the writing of my children's books.

Another stimulation for the writing of my books was the experience I acquired from probating my uncle’s estate, which took me 20 years. My uncle owned 25-acres of land in mid-east Texas since 1935 and he died without a will in 1975. I was appointed successor administrator by my father in 1986 and I acquired thirteen acres of the land through purchases and for services rendered. I began cultivating the land and again I was brought in close contact with wild animals, the woods and everything that came with it, i.e. poison ivy, mosquitoes, swamp land, frogs, bugs, deer, rabbits and the like. These were the kinds of places as a boy I had daydreamed about and led to the development of my book about two coyotes, Byron and Max living in the woods. As I was writing the book, I could envision all of the creatures in my woods interacting and going about their daily lives as if I was a part of the scene.

I am also the author of the cookbook 35 Ways to Please Your Woman From the Kitchen of Milton, published by Walter’s Cookbooks. My cookbook is unique because of its mere existence. It fulfills the needs of the husband or single man because it is small, simple, and aids males in pleasing their ladies’ taste buds.

I have two other books in the making and I am looking forward to them being published. I will reveal those books in the not too distant future.
