UNDER A CHILD'S BED
In a child's imagination, their terror is by looking under their dark bed. Under it is all sorts of nightmares. From ghouls, monsters, and hidden dungeons, to other things that will make the child scream and sometimes run to his mom. Always dark under the bed, it makes the bravest of children scared. Asking mom, or dad to leave the bedroom lights on, for the child doesn't know which is worse, under the bed or the dark cluttered closet. As the child matures, or daylight creeps in, they always learn that there is nothing to fear under the dark bed, nothing but some old worn sneakers.

Michael Gainer has been writing poetry since 1979, and is published in several Anthologies. He has received Editor’s Choice Award (1997), and a Honorable Mention Award (2000). Mr. Gainer is the author of a novel entitled The Apocalypse and the Quest for the Colonization on Mars. The poetry that is featured contains religious, inspirational, as well as award winning poems.
