About the Book

The Mind's Eye is a sample of the life of Perry A. Pickens. His poems seem to reach out to, and touch some of the things we all have within us: you'll feel the passion, the hurt, the joy, and the pain of his works. Everyday triumph and tragedy is seen and felt right here.

Pickens writes about the situations of the world too, much of that is centered around finding and losing love, and being in prison and dealing with that in everyday life. He looks deep into himself; and you may be surprised to think that some of what he sees in himself, the rest of us know about, but ignore . . . inside of us.
