Seth clasped the hand that laid upon his moist chest. He drew it to his lips. Gratitude welled inside, quickening his already fast heartbeat. He must capture this woman's essence, her very soul. Proceeding assuredly with kisses planted on her comely face, he uncovered other body parts and continued. Lest this elusive, creature escape, he eased her down upon the bed. Keeping near, he studied her languid form and features. She seemed dazed and didn't speak. Her lashes fluttered, half-concealing hazel eyes. "Are you all right?" he asked, concerned. Her sandy-colored lashes sprung open. She appeared to have awakened from slumber, glancing from side to side till their eyes met. "Love?" "Yes?" Her voice sounded as if it issued from underground. Concerned about this woman in his arms, Seth gentled and slowed his onslaught. He mustn't cause her flight. Heat and her own woman's aroma gave comfort, urging him toward their union. Hands laid on either side of her wild curls, he kissed and laved the valley between her corseted breasts. And when the elusive creature beneath him moaned, indicating, not pain, only growing need and hope of fulfillment, Seth knew they would soon connect. For only so long could he tolerate clothed bodies. Staying attached by kissing, he undid her bodice and corset. Her hands wedged between his, helping with disrobing. Momentarily stunned, he'd feared she might, just at consummation, resist and run. If she told him to stop, no matter how difficult, he would. He wanted no woman he must force. After discarding his shirt, he neglected other attire for now. Imogene must be fully submissive first and begging . . .

About the Author
Carolyn Solomon’s love for writing has been developed since childhood. Her first published short story, written about prejudice, appeared in Ingénue Magazine in 1955. At Northern High School, she served as a reporter and editor. Thirsting Heart is Carolyn’s first published novel. Carolyn presently resides in the metro Detroit, Michigan, area with her husband and agent, Odis Solomon.
