Universal Enterprises, with mining operations based on the asteroid Vesta, is in serious trouble. Marinium extraction is down, problem and accident rates up, and stockholders have not been fully informed. When Vesta’s Chief of Security mysteriously disappears during an investigative flight into the Belt, Universal quickly and quietly dispatches top operator Maggie Flemming and a Roboid assistant to Vesta with strict instructions. "Use any means necessary, but get results!"

Maggie immediately becomes embroiled in a tangled web of Corporate treachery and supernatural happenings spanning almost half a century and with the potential to shake the very foundation of Earth’s space exploration history if exposed.

As the depth of her own involvement becomes apparent, she must not only separate fact from fantasy, but is also forced to examine emotions suppressed throughout her life.
