Williams asked: 'How long ago did this happen?'
Sikes ran his fingers through his brown hair. 'We're not sure. From the information we have, he escaped sometime early last week.' Sikes paused. 'We'd like to assign two agents to the Ash family.'
'I want the agents to be with my family, not with me,' Joe said. 'I can take care of myself. But I want around-the-clock protection for my family.'
'No problem' Sikes said, 'I will take care of everything in the morning.'
'I'll put Alison and the kids on a plane in the morning,' Joe assured him.
General Williams added, 'Joe, I'll be spending a lot of time here, so get use to me being around.'
Joe nodded his approval. 'Thanks General, I appreciate that.'
Everyone finally left, and Joe sat with his arms around Alison. He told her what was going on. It was extremely difficult for Joe to look at her. All he could think of is the terror she and the kids had gone through, and he wasn't going to let that happen again.
Joe was reluctant to get into a detailed conversation about Movick. He talked about the football game and tried to make every thing sound as though there was nothing to worry about. He was fumbling and stuttering with every thing he tried to say.
Alison gently placed her fingers over his lips. 'I understand.' She then went upstairs to pack. Joe walked into the bedroom while Alison packed quietly.

At 7 a.m., Joe took his family to the airport. As he stood in line for the tickets, everyone looked suspicious to him. When someone glanced at the kids, his heart nearly stopped.
Finally, he got up to the window to order the tickets and looked over his shoulder at his wife. He saw two men standing with her. One of the men had his hand on her arm, and was apparently ushering her away.
He darted up behind the two men and slammed one man to the floor, then turned and faced the other. Alison stepped between them. 'Joe, these are FBI agents.'
'FBI my ass,' snapped Joe. People in the airport came to a halt. They all looked at Joe. The man still standing held his badge in the air and yelled, 'FBI, back off, we're FBI!'
Just then, fighting his way through the crowd, Sikes arrived. 'Joe! It's okay, they're my men.'
Joe looked over to Sikes, noticing the look of terror on the faces of the travelers in the airport. Suddenly, he realized his mistake. All at once he felt ashamed, humiliated and embarrassed. Joe leaned over and held out his hand to help up the agent he'd knocked down.
As he assisted the man to his feet, the agent pulled back. 'Christ, what the hell is wrong with you?'
Sikes stepped in. 'Take it easy, it's only a mistake, no harm done.' He escorted Joe aside. 'Joe, I told you I assigned two agents to protect your family.'
Joe noticed the crowd was finally dispersing. 'They should have came to me first. I'm sorry, Allen. Movick has made me paranoid and reckless after everything that has happened. I'd better get back on track before I kill somebody.'

After all, if it can happen to Joe Ash's family, why not yours? A knuckle whitening read. It keeps moving and brings the reality of what could actually happen to any family. I would recomend this book to anyone who enjoys an exciting novel. Finally a book that kept me reading. I would love to read another book from this author. The only fault I could find is it ended too soon. Looking forward to Mr.Olsen's next novel. I use to read because it was exciting, then I would read looking for something exciting. After reading this book I've found it! Excellent! Right to the point. An easy read all the way through and really kept my interest. When is his next book going to be released? I couldn't find a lull anywhere in this book. It was nice to NOT have the urge to skip pages because I was beginning to get board. It was exciting all the way to the end. On the edge from start to finish I found myself getting up an hour early in the mornings to have time to read this book without any interruptions from the kids. I couldn't stop reading it. Being a parent I could relate to the terror of this family. Gripping......I couldn't set it down. A terrific read. Olsen is a first-rate storyteller. Definitely recommended! It had me hooked in the first four pages! Nice and refreshing to read a book that kept my interest 100% of the time. Where has this guy been?

About the Author
Howard Olsen has been a 'jack of all trades' throughout his life. He's seen his share of military service and has put his talents for martial arts, weaponry and guitar playing to good use. His first book, Diplomatic Immunity, was met with praise for its fast-paced action and no-nonsense dialogue, garnering a mention in the August 2, 1999 issue of Time Magazine and, the December issue of Writers Digest. Olsen owns his own business in Massachusetts and writes in his spare time. He also stays busy with his beloved grandchildren and has been a head football coach for the past 16 years.
