Revelation

"Not since the death of Princess Diana in 1997 has the world mourned so greatly. Similar to then, disbelief and horror has overtaken the world.

"Since last night s tragic phenomenon, the worlds communities have been reporting thousands upon thousands of people missing. And sad to say, it is expected that the number of those missing will more than likely be in the millions. From all over the world, from every city and town, there are reports of clothing and other personal belongings scattered in the streets, in almost every building, and in cars that have crashed along almost every path, road and highway in the world. These items are also being found in homes, churches, businesses, and in now empty beds that were once occupied by healthy people, but nowhere can the people who once filled them be found. Not even a single strand of hair that once belonged to those who are being reported as missing was left behind.

"Hospitals from all over the world are reported to be crowded with people who were injured as a result of last night s tragedy. They are reporting incidents ranging from minor cuts and bruises to very serious life threatening injuries in need of immediate surgery. While most patients have been treated and released as of this time, there are still many that will require long term care.

"As strange as it is, from all corners of the earth, not a single death from those who were injured has been reported. Unexplainably there are no lifeless bodies to be found anywhere. It appears that because of this event, people were either injured or they simply disappeared.

"And even stranger, is the fact that within the last thirty minutes the World s Civil and Military Transportation Safety Boards have confirmed reports from air traffic controllers around the world that there were no aircraft accidents due to the flash of light that occurred last night. They do, however, report that there were some pilots and other crewmembers and many passengers that have in fact disappeared while the flight was in progress, but none of those flights were affected to the point of jeopardizing the safety of any aircraft.

"Similar reports regarding rail and ocean transportation have been forthcoming all night. What happened last night is truly beyond all human comprehension and explanation.

"In less than twelve hours our world has transformed from what we knew to a state of absolute chaos. People everywhere are crying and shouting, looking for lost loved ones and friends but to no avail. People are asking how could this have happened, but no one has an answer. How could some be effected and not others? Mothers and fathers are alive while their sons and daughters missing and believed dead. There are children alive and unable to find their parents or siblings. How many lives has this tragedy claimed? No one knows for sure."

The announcer hesitated as he somberly turned away from the camera and wiped away the tears that wet his cheeks. A few moments later he faced the camera again and continued with his broadcast.

"I, too, am with great sadness as my beloved wife and four precious children have also been taken by this still unknown killer.

"Why me, Lord?" he shouted. "Why any of us?" He began to sob openly, putting his head down on his folded arms on the desk.

Quickly turning away from the visibly shaken man, the television camera focused on another announcer.

"We ve just received word that CNN will be breaking in on all commercial television stations for a major announcement regarding last night s incident," the man said. "As soon as our satellite hook-up is established with the World Scientific Body in Zurich, Switzerland, our broadcast will begin. Until then, channel six will cancel all broadcasts and air only appropriately selected music.

"Thank you for joining us this Sunday morning. Until later, I m Jose Manuelles, for Ted Times and the staff of Sunday Morning in Philadelphia, bidding you farewell."
