About the Book
This writing contains strategies for victorious Christian living and is presented in plainspoken truths. The message is directed primarily to Christians, who have been taught and admonished thoroughly concerning the wrongs of sin, yet have few defenses for circumspect living on a day-by-day basis. It is made clear that our personal witness and spiritual production will collapse, along with our peace with God, in the clutter of unbridled lifestyles. The way is opened for victory down here in the nitty-gritty of life.
The nature of sin, along with its origin and how it is viewed by God, is presented. Acts of sin are related to their root causes and the reader is taken step-by-step through the expanding forces of the temptation processes. One is shown how to recognize incipient sin in the early stages and how to take it to the curb--before becoming entrapped in the attending heat and pressures. The reader is acquainted with the concept of an early warning system, fashioned to his most prominent susceptibilities.
For those who fail to escape temptation at its onset and are caught in the growing quagmire, it is illustrated through typical scenarios how one can escape at any of many stages during the temptation process. Sin is faced squarely, not painted over! Included in this book's appendices, are self-examination questions to confront each of us with our own behavior. We make mistakes but we do not need to fall into scandalous situations which damage our reputations and negate our Christian testimonies. Should we fail to stay the course, guidelines for immediate action have been provided. The reader will see the entire amalgam of behavior and remedial processes! The advantages of having proper personal relationships, which encourage conforming lifestyles, are discussed at length along with the disadvantages of improper relationships.
The ideas expressed in this writing are keyed to specific verses of Scripture. These Bible references provide a resource compendium for students, writers and speakers. The discussion presented is generously salted with anecdotes for further interest and clarity. It is highly instructional and provides solutions that can be implemented immediately and realistically. Detailed expositions (viz., The Genesis of Sin) have been placed in appendices for smooth first readings with in-depth studies available. From an evangelical standpoint, unbelievers will find clear answers to most of their basic questions concerning the Christian faith. In that sense, this manuscript is directed to everyone.
