OLD MAN BY THE SEA

There was an old man, who sat by the sea. Clothes were torn and
He stared at a TV. TV not working and channels no change, one might say
He was a little strange. But if you stop to talk, knowledge he would pass,
He would not look at you, just stare at the glass. Life is real funny he
Murmured in a tone. One day you have everything then it's all gone. Much
Like this TV I have today, once a beautiful picture but now it's gone
Away. So seize the moment while it is near, for the pathway there will not
Always be clear. Some say I'm crazy just by looking at me, but you don't
Have to listen, I'm just an OLD MAN BY THE SEA.

PRAYER OF A SLAVE

0 lord help me to bare the pain, for the treatment we're receiving
Is so inhumane. The wretched whip as tares my skin, the cuts are deep and
Scar within. I'm reaching out my hand, so I may cling to thee, for I'm not
Alone, I have a family of three. The good book says' remain in a humble state'
But my anger is growing and I know my fate. I see the master as he eyes my
Wife, lord if he makes that move I must take his life. We try to remain
Strong by singing the old familiar hymns, but it is so hard when you see your
Brothers' hanging from a limb. Working in the fields and the sun blisters our'
Back's, picking of the cotton and the hay we do stack. Our clothes are torn
And shoes we don't have, the animals have priority so there's little water
For a bath. It's hard to understand for we are men as they are, but with your
Help Lord, I know freedom is not far. For my cry you hear and our lives you
Will save, please don't past us by, for this is a PRAYER OF A SLAVE.
