Realities and Illusions
I have used these two words, reality and illusion, throughout this book and now it s time to examine them and what they really mean or what they don t mean. Can reality be an illusion? Or are illusions what reality is made of? Scientist are now saying that our brain doesn t have enough energy to light a light bulb and if this is true, where does our life force of energy come from? Does it come from the consciousness that surrounds our bodies? Is our brain only a receiver for the collective conscious of the universe? Is our mind and brain two different things? And if they are which one forms illusions and which one knows what our reality is? These are some of the questions we are going to explore in this chapter.
Reality is defined by Webster s Dictionary as - 1. the state of quality of being real. 2. resemblance to what is real. 3. a real thing or fact. 4. something that constitutes a real or actual thing, as distinguished from something that is merely apparent.
Illusions are defined by Webster s Dictionary as - 1. something that deceives by producing a false impression. 2. state or condition of being deceived; misapprehension. Also, an illusion is a false mental image or conception which may be a misinterpretation of a real appearance or may be something imagined.
What We Are Taught
I would like to start this book at the beginning of our lives because that is where it all begins. I believe that when we are all born we are all given the same measure of faith in ourselves and a Higher Power, and the same amount of inherent guidance and psychic ability. This, I believe, is what is meant when the Bible says we are all created equal. It has nothing to do with money, IQ, looks or personalities. These materialistic and idealistic illusions are taught to us as we grow up.
So we are born and within a few seconds of our birth, after our spirit realizes that we have just become an individual human being and we are no longer of the spirit realm, the reality of a materialistic world hits. We have just come from a world where there is no hunger, pain or limitations and we are hungry, our tiny body hurts and we can t seem to help ourselves so we just cry. The connection with that divine kingdom appears to be broken, but this too is an illusion. It is this illusion that stops us from doing what we came here to do, LIVE.
I believe that as newborns and into the first few years of our lives, we can see many of our angels and spirit guides, that is until we are told that angels or God or whatever we are seeing is not real. This is one of the first doubts that are planted in our minds at a very young age. As this doubt grows, we start doubting other things too. We think that because whatever we were seeing as a young child was explained as not being real, we wonder if anything we see is really there. We start questioning everything including our own thoughts and sanity.
