Why is moisturizing the skin, on daily basis, important to the skin's health and beauty?
Moisturizing the skin daily is one of the most important things that we can do to keep our skin plump, supple and young-looking. This is true because hydrating the skin (adding to its moisture), through the application of good skin moisturizers will replenish moisture in the skin cells, thus maintaining a healthful moisture balance. In turn, this action will preserve the skin's elasticity.
Proper skin moisturizing is also important to the skin as it maintains the movement of fats in the stratum corneum. These fats make the skin supple, with an easy slide and a soft touch. However, due to insufficient moisture in the cells, these fats become hard and rigid, causing the skin to become dry, flaky and easy to crack.
Hydrating the skin, by adding moisture to its water content, can be critical in reversing common skin conditions such as extreme dryness of the skin. It also guards against inflammation while greatly enhance skin rejuvenation.
Moisturizing and/or hydrating the skin is, therefore, not only beneficial but also essential to the skin's looks because it supplies the skin with both moisture and nourishment. This dual action of moisturizing is absolutely needed to keep the skin soft and young-looking.

TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF IMPURE SKIN
To regulate and balance the superficial manifestations of impure skin does not mean that the problem has been completely solved. Actually, to solve the problem from its roots and to help the body become healthy and free of impurities or any further accumulation of wastes, one should abide by certain basic dietary and skin care recommendations such as the following:
- Drink cocktails made of apple juice concentrate and cucumber juice (cucumbers are high in sodium, which makes the skin stay cool).
- Keep your hair clean and away from the face, as bangs, if they are not trimmed regularly can promote breakouts on the forehead.
- Use essential oils that are known to balance, purify, cleanse and regulate impure skin. Examples include burdock root, Saint John's wort, juniper, sage, birch, tea tree, lemon and savory.
- Once a week, apply a cleansing mask with a few drops of an essential oil such as lavender, thyme, tea tree, lemon, bergamot, juniper, eucalyptus, rosewood, rosemary or clary sage, to provide astringent, decongestant, anti-inflammatory, soothing and antiseptic properties.

What causes bags to appear under the eyes?
To answer this question let us briefly review the anatomical structure and location of the eye. The eye rests in its location in the head, on a special place that resembles a pad. This area is made up of tiny clusters of fat, separated by partitions of connective tissue, which are permanently mobilized by muscles. Because the skin in the eyelid area is extremely fine and thin, these fatty accumulations can, as in certain dietary, genetic or hereditary cases, become distended. When this happens, they would push down, with them, the cutaneous tissue of the eyelid skin, resulting in a small hernia in the eye area that looks like "bags" under the eyes.
Age, stress and fatigue are factors that can make the problem worse, and while skin sagging accentuates it, resting will not help improve it, either. In addition, allergies (especially from skin cosmetics), lack of sleep, genetics and fluid retention (caused by consuming too much salt) can also cause it.

How to prevent, or at least, delay the appearance of gray hair
Because a deficiency of the B vitamins affect the color of the hair tremendously, one should take high doses of B complex vitamins especially choline, pantothenic acid (100 mg. daily) and PABA (200 to 300 mg. daily). As a rich source of the B vitamins one should take Brewer's yeast and de-fatted liver extract or desiccated liver tablets. Taking these supplements and nutrients will, in most cases, return hair to its original color. In addition, taking a small amount of a vegetable oil (two tablespoons) daily along with a high-protein diet will produce noticeable and successful results.
Drink parsley, apple, and celery juices. Take blackstrap molasses. Use thyme extract as a concentrated rinse.

COMMON NAIL PROBLEMS AND THEIR TREATMENTS
Abnormal or unhealthy nails may be the result of a local injury, a glandular deficiency as in hypothyroidism or, as we have already discussed a deficiency in certain nutrients. For example: cracked nails indicate a silicon deficiency, white spots on the nails indicate calcium or zinc deficiencies, blue nails indicate a venous condition (weak blood circulation), and lack of the big moons on the nails, indicate poor circulation in the extremities. However, the most common nail problem is when nails become weak, thin and brittle. This makes the nails break off and split into layers, frequently and easily.
