She was asleep on the bed. He could tell she had taken a shower, her hair was still damp. She just had on one of his shirts, how tempting can this be, he grinned to himself, shook his head and headed for the shower himself. He needed a really cold one right now. The sound of the shower running woke her and she stretched and wondered how long she had been asleep. Only a half hour, but she felt totally refreshed. She slipped on her white levis and a deep red summer sweater with white buttons. The shower went off and she hollered to Chad that they were going to mom’s for supper. He opened the door and said "great!" He walked out with just a towel around him and she took a deep breath. Christ, he had a good build for a man his age. He smiled at her and said "I liked you better in my shirt, but you look great. You should nap more often," he winked at her and headed up the stairs. She rolled her eyes and went to finish her hair and makeup. She was saving a fortune by not wearing makeup all the time. He came down the stairs still putting his belt on. He had on black levis with a white shirt and a red neck scarf. She had to admit, he was a good looking man. He picked up his black dress hat and put out his arm. "Madam, are we taking the car this evening?" No wonder he had so many women friends, well at least that was the rumor. "Of course kind sir, only the best for such a good looking couple," she teased. He stopped and stepped back to look at her, then put his hands on her shoulders. "Jes, you know I tease a lot, but if you ever need anything, if you ever want anything, I’m here for you, you know that don’t you?" "Yes, I know," she said softly. "Thank you Chad." She turned and headed for the door, she knew her cheeks matched her sweater.

About the Book
Life on a cattle ranch can get real lonely, so when Jessie offered to come and fix up the house, Chad jumped at the chance to have her around. Even going to the rodeos didn't fill the gap in not having his family around and Jessie had always been like family. He knew her better than he had known anyone in his life and had probably been in love with her for as long as he could remember. The only trouble was, she was in love with his little brother, Dan. Some guys have all the luck, or did they?
About the Author
Diane (Sinkyin) Small was born in St. Paul, Minn. At the age of three the family moved to their 6000 acre cattle ranch in western South Dakota. She started writing in high school, but wasn't published until she was in college. Diane has written two books of poetry and several short stories. She has been contributing editor to several magazines and wrote the automotive section of the Tucson Business Journal for several years. She attended the Univ. of Minn. and the Univ. of Arizona and has a degree in Business management. Diane also has written several country songs and is an accomplished musician. She has five children and lives in Arizona.
