In this novel a cyber science guru applies steganography to hide sales messages in smartphone conversations in order to bolster sagging automobile sales. Webster “Web” Sterling inherited a 220-foot yacht which he uses as a seafaring platform to uplink millions of messages to a low Earth orbit satellite constellation able to relay cellphone signals down to smartphones. The messages are hidden in the voids between data in text, graphics and even the words of a conversation. Web’s team is expert in the technology to originate the subliminal sales messages from his yacht as it travels through the Caribbean. The yacht, Spendthrift, stops in Bermuda where the youths learn how to set up a tax-free corporation. After a year of operation and dramatically increasing car sales volumes, the journey ends with generous bonus checks. In a moment of genius, Web designs a next-generation smartwatch, a “supercomputer on the wrist.” It has over forty useful applications and sales skyrocket due to its utility and, in part, by the application of steganography by former employees.
