About the Author
Nathaniel Jerome McClain, Sr. Nathaniel J. McClain, Sr. is a veteran, aviation leader, pastor, and author whose life has been shaped by disciplined service and unwavering faith. A United States Army combat crew chief during the Vietnam War, he later served 35 years with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, becoming the first Black pilot in the Aviation Unit and ultimately Chief Pilot of both Fixed-Wing and Rotary Operations. His career spanned patrol, narcotics, internal affairs, and aviation leadership, where he helped set standards that influenced generations of officers and pilots. Ordained in ministry in 1980, McClain has pastored for over four decades, building a biblically grounded and administratively sound church model rooted in accountability, structure, and spiritual maturity.
