About the Book

Out of the Stillness: Poems of Presence, Passage, and Quiet Wonder is a collection of gentle, meditative poems that invite readers to notice the way shadows fall, memory stirs, and nature breathes. It’s a book about being rather than doing. With mindful attention and emotional grace, author Benita Glickman guides readers through moments of presence, reflection, and transformation. Her journey—marked by the loss of her beloved husband of thirty-eight years— unfolds in quiet reverence, illuminating the spaces between grief and growth, solitude and connection. Benita’s poetry captures the hush of moonlight, the shimmer of light on the lake, the sensation of being kissed by a shadow. Her voice is elegant and intimate, timeless and deeply human. Each poem offers a soft landing—a moment to pause, reflect, and connect. Walk alongside Benita. Flow with her movement. Feel the stillness, the love, the longing, and embrace the triumph of renewal. These poems honor the emotional pause we all need. They remind us that endings are not conclusions, but thresholds to new beginnings.
