About the Book

There have been many accomplished Biblical scholars who have written books on the whole armor of God from Ephesians chapter six. They understand the original Greek language of the New Testament, the culture of the first century, and the other writings of the Apostle Paul. However, these scholars only have one side of the equation, because … … they’ve never picked up an authentic sword and held it in their hand. They’ve never stood in a battle line with a thousand fellow combatants and braced for the charge of a thousand other opponents bearing down on them. They’ve never felt the sweat trickle down their back wearing 40 pounds of full plate armor on a midsummer afternoon or groaned from having worn that same armor for 14 hours straight. They’ve never felt their teeth crack from receiving a blow by a sword or axe on their shield or that same plate armor. They’ve never experienced the confusion and cacophony of an ancient battlefield where you have to look your opponent in the eye as you engage him in hand-to-hand combat. What does all this have to do with Ephesians chapter six? Everything. Until you can understand the nature of ancient arms and armor and the type of warfare soldiers in the first century experienced, you cannot understand the nature of spiritual warfare as described by the Apostle Paul. Peter Fuller has spent a lifetime studying, researching, making and wearing all forms of ancient and medieval armor. He has had tenure at a museum with a major arms and armor collection where he curated that collection. He is also a Bible college graduate (magna cum laude) and has written and taught extensively on theology and the Bible. In this book he brings together the two elements–the practical and the academic–into one comprehensive presentation, the likes of which you have never read before. In our modern age where the devil and his hordes are becoming more prevalent, more powerful and more influential, you need to prepare yourself for his onslaught. This book will equip you to engage with the enemy of our souls and be confident of victory.

About the Author

Peter Fuller was born in Jasper, Alberta, on July 5, 1960. His father, grandfather, and aunt were all successful western artists, so even though he inherited their artistic ability, he ended up as a bit of an aberration. The pivotal moment of his life came when he was four years old and a salesman came to the door selling Ajax laundry detergent. The salesman was dressed in a suit of armour painted white (remember the TV ad with the white knight that jousted with the clothesline to get the clothes clean?). From that moment on, Peter was hooked on all things medieval, but especially armor. He has spent the rest of his life studying the ancient and medieval periods. Peter studied art and art history at the Alberta College of Art (Calgary, Alberta) and Sheridan College of Art and Design (Oakville, Ontario – summa cum laude), and theology at Vanguard College (Edmonton, Alberta – magna cum laude). He worked in the Military History Department of the Glenbow Museum in Calgary for eight years, specifically with the European arms and armor collection, the second largest in Canada. Peter always wanted to have his own armour and realized the only way he was ever going to have any was if he made it himself, so he started making armor as a hobby in 1980. In 1994, he started a business called Medieval Reproductions. Peter made armor professionally until a shoulder injury in 2015 ended his ability to make armor. Peter has made armor for the Glenbow Museum (Calgary), the Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto), the Higgins Armory Museum (Worchester, Mass.), Worchester Cathedral (England) and countless collectors and re-enactors. Over a three-and-a-half-year period, he completed a faithful copy of the armor of George Clifford, 3rd Earl of Cumberland, for the owner of Appleby Castle in Cumbria, England. He’s also produced two DVDs on making armor, titled “The Armorer’s Workshop,” outlining the making of a 14th century great helm and a pair of 14th century “hourglass” gauntlets. In 1997, Peter founded the Medieval Arms Society of Calgary (MASC), a reenactment group that presented historically accurate medieval martial arts. He participated in numerous mock battles, including a reenactment of the Battle of Hastings at the town of Battle, England, in 2000, which included 1,300 participants. In 1980, Peter met the love of his life, Anna-Marie Doede. They met at a nightclub, where she asked him to dance. In July 1983, together they gave their hearts to the Lord. On April 14th, 1984, they were married. They have two children, Justina, a paramedic, and Jonathan, a character designer for a major video game provider. They also have a plucky little granddaughter, Ayla, who has brought much joy to their lives. In 2015, after his armor making career was ended, Peter began writing Christian military science fiction. He’s published five novels–one adventure novel and a series of four other novels about the secret space program titled, “Solar Warden.” The first novel in the series won two awards, the second novel, one award. You can find them here: www.solar-warden.com He has also published a book of his wife Anna-Marie’s poetry called, “Sunshine Laughing,” stating it is arguably the most important book he’s published thus far. Peter was lying on the bed beside her when she drew her final breath. At that moment, his heart died with her–it was the darkest day of his life. They were together for 43 years and married for 39 of those years. Anna-Marie is now in heaven, waiting for Peter to join her.
