About the Book

The conception and writing of Transatlantic Tales were a two-year, collaborative, ‘across the pond’ project between friends of more than twenty years. Their friendship initially formed out of a mutual love for poetry - both belonging to a (now non-existent) global poetry society. This book is a collection of short stories. Each month, titles of stories were proposed by one author with final selection by the other, on rotation. Completely independently, each author proceeded to come up with ideas to create his own unique, creative and imaginative story based upon the monthly title. Thus, the simultaneous birth of two totally different, unique and distinct approaches and storylines per title! As the book progressed and took shape, both authors were truly amazed and inspired by their coauthor’s creation. Instead of being a monthly competition, Transatlantic Tales became a vector for mutual admiration and respect between two artists. It was a special endeavor which was mutually enjoyed and will bring memories of happiness, joy and pride to each of the ‘Transatlantic’ friends for many years to come.

About the Author

Dale J. Mullock was born in Ashton Under Lynne, Derbyshire, as the youngest of three brothers. Trained in business administration but decided that wasn’t the life to lead and jumped from vocation to vocation until settling on working for awarding body for land-based training for over 20 years. Dabbled in writing and poetry from an early age and had a few poems published in anthologies but then met Ed (again!) who encouraged him back into the writing fold. Edward F. Cassidy was born in Brooklyn, New York City and spent more than 40 years in the global chemical and polymers industries as a scientist and business leader. He is now semi-retired and leads private technical consulting projects. To date, he has self-published four books and edited one. Pastimes include travelling and sharing golden age adventures with his wife, Judith and spending time with their daughter and grown grandchildren who live in Belgium.
