About the Book

Pearls of Wisdom and Precious Memories is a compilation of lived childhood experiences in the rural South. They are cherished elements of my life lived through my eyes. They are gentle lessons and memories that I hope will inspire and encourage the reader to remember that life experiences are not as bad as we think they are. In fact, they help to shape us into the person that we are today.

The stories are meant to encourage the reader to think about how the simple things in life can bring the greatest pleasures. They are inspired by my love for God, people, his creation, and the uniqueness of finding joy in being a child.

There are many names mentioned in this book, and I would like to thank each of them for allowing me to use them. Some of those individuals are a part of the fabric of the community in which I grew up. I will forever be grateful to them for all the wisdom that was poured into me. As you continue to read the rest of the stories, may you find much joy in reading them, as I did in writing.
