THE LIVING FRACTURED, THE WALKING WOUNDED, THE LEADING BLEEDING ON THE SPECTRUM OF LIFE If one had a visible limp as a result of a sudden fall, it just might draw the attention and sympathy of people around. There might even be offers to help that person with the limp in that situation e.g getting escorted to the person’s car in the car-park, an arm to support etc. But can one really see what is going on deep inside the canyons of the human heart? Can one hear the echoes of piled up dark thoughts that flood and echo in the caves of those heart-walls? Silent but loud. A rumbling inferno. When a bone is fractured in a body, it may not often be visible to the human eye. On the outside, it may even look like nothing serious occurred. In cases like this, only an x-ray is bound to reveal the true extent of whatever is going on underneath the surface. The same thing can be said about emotional and mental fractures. Sometimes, they happen so deep inside that you may never even know just how far that they go. It might take even years and years to discover that something is really amiss. It could be revealed either in a behavioral pattern, contradictory circumstances or as a reaction to a situation. Then you wonder, how come? Why did I act that way? Why did I lash out? Why am I acting strange? Why did I react in that manner? How could this be? Well, here are a few examples. · You can be popular or in the limelight and still be battling with thoughts of loneliness, insecurity and fear. · You can have the glitz and glamour and still feel trapped in the dungeons of your mind. · You can get a promotion and a stellar achievement and still feel like a loser struggling with imposter syndrome. · You can be the effervescent joy-ball, full of mirth and humour and still feel like a cloud is hanging low over your head. · You can be leading (in the forefront of any sector, space or sphere of influence) while bleeding. · You can have the whole world lapping up on your sweet, suave and trendy social media feed and content and still be the most bitter, contradictory and broken person around. Sending out emojis and emoticons of hearts and likes but overwhelmed and filled with a deep sense of sadness, emptiness and loss. What an irony! What a crazy contradiction! ******************************* Imagine a Soldier maimed and wounded from the aftermath of war at the battlefront. It is easy to empathize with him or her. They’ve been to war. There’s a scar to show. There’s evidence. Just like that Soldier, ‘we are soldiers, soldiers in the army of life’ (culled from the first line of my song ‘Stronger’). Oh yes, we are! Emotional wounds and mental fractures can also maim and wound a human being too. It may not be as obvious as the Soldier’s physical scar or wound but it can leave a dent and remove a person's zeal for life. Yet-to-be answered prayers, unmet expectations and disappointed hope can fill the hole in a soul where faith and fire used to ooze out effortlessly from.

Glowreeyah Braimah is a kaleidoscope of colours. As a distinct Music Minister (with a global worship anthem ‘Miracle-Worker’ and other notable songs), she is also a Lawyer, Creativepreneur, Speaker and Social Impact Advocate. Glowreeyah is a blazing Multipassionate and transgenerational young-at-heart personality. As a child, Glowreeyah read a book every day and her favourite hang-out spot in her parent’s home was in their Study. Glowreeyah’s creative ability as a Wordsmith is enthralling and masterful.
