“Eastern Shore Baptist Church, Pastor Lockwood speaking,” “Hi Pastor, this is Sydney Hopkins, it’s been a while.” “Sydney, we have missed you, how are you?” said Pastor Lockwood. Well, it’s a long story, but the short version is I’ve been out of church since I quit attending your church, and now I’m pregnant. The father is not in the picture. Can you forgive me? I want to return to God; will the church help me?” Pastor Lockwood said, “God instructs us to forgive and to bring the lost sheep back into the fold. Of course, we will help you.” Sunday morning Sydney was at church and found herself at the alter rededicating her life and the life of her baby to Jesus. Monday morning at work Sydney was feeling a spring in her step and a new smile on her face. Natalie stopped by and said, “I’m so glad to see you feeling better!” Sydney replied, “Natalie, I have news. I’m pregnant!” “EEK!” Natalie shrieked, “O M G! I am so happy for you!” Renee peeked around the corner, “What’s going on?” “Sydney’s pregnant!” Natalie shouted. “What?” another coworker said. On and on throughout the department, until everyone had heard. Sydney was glad she had decided to keep the baby. Congratulations were going all around. Everyone wanted to know who she was dating. She just told them the father was not in the picture.
