About the Book

This book was written to teach young children the awareness and exposure of different cultural backgrounds. I had a vision on how we can make culture part of education, and I’ve realized that each and every one of us is part of that vision. It is time to design and set a framework in which students can center their experiences and differences to explore, accept, and embrace who they are through stories. This book both teaches and allows students to make connections, relate, identify, and accept themselves and others.

About the Author

Erica Cruz is currently serving her community as an educator in the South Bronx. She is an alumni from Fordham University and obtained her M.S.T., in Early Childhood Bilingual Special Education. She is serving as a member in the board within the New York State CEC ( Council for Exceptional Children) organization. Erica is an advocate and strongly believes that early exposures and connections builds experiences and paves a path in leading closer to accomplishing the goal of unity, equality and equity in understanding cultures successfully. Diversity is recognizing, accepting, embracing differences and the beginning of human power.
