A New Home (ca. 20,000 BCE)
Humanity and the TWO arrived on the fog-shrouded island. They found an untouched land of plants of and animals and streams and lakes and waterfalls and no children of MAN. As they began to explore the vast new land, Humanity found everything that they would need to establish a new home. Having seen Humanity cross the land bridge, soon some of the children of MAN dared to venture across the land bridge toward the unknown. Viewing the distant shore, Humanity could see the children of MAN gathering and hesitantly venturing onto the land bridge. Realizing the need to cut off the access of their new land to encroachment by the children of MAN, Humanity decided to destroy the land bridge. Thus it was that the children of MAN soon forgot Humanity, and the great fog-shrouded land in the sea became just an inaccessible feature of their landscape.
For the first time in their history, the TWO and Humanity were faced with the challenges of an unknown future and unexplored surroundings. The TWO realized, if Humanity were ever to develop independence from their parental oversight, they must retreat from daily interactions. Thus they gave guidance for exploration of the new land and establishment of the new civilization: settlement areas scattered around the new land; initial appointment of regional administrators; and judges. It would be left to the Humanity in each area to establish local leadership. In addition, the TWO gave guidance for establishment of centers of learning, of technology development, and of repositories of knowledge.
The TWO gradually withdrew, making progressively less frequent contact, as Humanity explored and began to establish a new civilization. Finally, the TWO withdrew completely, with plans to make only very rare appearances for interaction with Humanity. They chose a location in a very remote region of the new land and established a dwelling place with access to water and food. Surrounding the place was a boundary, which Humanity would not cross. Using their special abilities and innovations, the TWO were able to observe Humanity remotely and record their history and development. They grew devices for storing information (history, facts, details, thoughts, ideas, dreams) directly from the raw elements of LIFE itself. Since the storage devices were essentially organic, the TWO could directly link their minds to the devices. Only rarely would they make physical appearances, choosing instead to project their presence when required to individuals, groups or the whole of Humanity.
