About the Author

Marco A. Gonzalez entered the practical nursing field in 1973 and graduated in 1974. Since then he has diversified the role of he L.P.N.. He attended college on independent study levels, which include electives in psychology, anatomy and physiology as well as communications and cultural studies. He also did a stint in legal studies at The New York State Trial Lawyers Association School in New York City. He then earned professional teaching licenses in New York State by The University of The State of New York as a private school teacher in the areas of electrocardiography, phlebotomy, medical assistants, medical office management, and certified nurses assistant theory also, becoming a Certified Allied Health Instructor by the American Association of Medical Technologists. In 1988 he joined the United States Naval Reserve as a Petty Officer and taught various subjects in military medicine to independent duty corpsman for field operations, ships and submarine squadrons. In 1990 he was awarded the National Defense Medal and the New York State Medal for his efforts in the Persian Gulf Crisis after being mobilized for active duty by President George Bush and serving in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. He served as an instructor for independent duty corpsman: as a Leading Petty Officer, supporting submarine squadrons, sea and shore teams. These experiences came together on September 11, 2001 serving the public and his country between Bellevue Hospital and Ground Zero World Trade Center New York City disaster.
