About the Author

The author, George S. Haines, reared on a working farm in Indiana, graduated from Purdue University with B. S. and M. S. Degrees. He earned his doctorate at George Peabody College for Teachers, now a college at Vanderbilt University. He taught students at the seventh grade level thru adults. At Taylor University he served as professor of education and director of teacher education. He lives in Ft. Myers, Florida. The artist, Betty Wedeles, has taught beginning and advanced art classes during her illustrious career. Her artistic creations have won many citations and awards. Her knowledge and application of color, harmony, value, measurement and composition are evident in her artistic rendition on the front cover. She continues to respect wildlife and its habitat in her artistic creations. She lives in Ft. Myers, Florida.
