The Adventures of Scoobernut and Doopendoo

About the Book

Scoobernut and Doopendoo are names uttered by my sister when we were young children. Over time, we used the names interchangeably to refer to each other or to pets. On a family camping trip, someone said Scoobernut and Doopendoo would be a great name for a book. The story was born on the car ride home. I turned to my fiancé, who was driving, and said, “I have it! What about a squirrel and a nut who become best friends?” He loved the idea. I immediately called my sister and brother-in-law, and they both loved it too. From there, I was off. I hope that the bond these two unlikely characters form and the adventures they have together will create fond memories for parents and children alike.

About the Author

Jennifer Nicolais is a registered nurse who works and lives in Wilmington, Delaware. Jennifer enjoys reading books to her son, Brayden. Brayden is the reason she started on her journey of writing children’s books. She saw the joy in her son’s eyes with every turn of the page and wanted to bring that same joy to other children. As a new mother, Jennifer has concerns about the proper way to raise a boy to be a man. It is her hope that this series of books will teach compassion and right from wrong and help other parents broach difficult topics.
