About the Book

Religion and science do not disagree. Disagreeable people use one to discredit the other. Learn how not to be a disagreeable person. Find what relativity and quantum mechanics say about God. Read the biblical account of evolution and learn your church’s interpretation of it. Locate the Garden of Eden. What is meant by “the image of God?” Find Neanderthal men mentioned in the Bible. Trace the course of Noah’s ark. Where was the Tower of Babel and who built it? Find the stories of Joseph and Moses in hieroglyphics. What caused the plagues of Egypt, and how did it affect the rest of the world? What caused the sea to part, and where did it happen? Name the star that shone over Bethlehem. When was Jesus born (not in December)? What did Jesus say about miracles, dogma, liturgy, and authority? What happened to the forbidden gospels, and what do they tell us? Why are there so many Christian denominations? Learn how conmen use antievolution to steal your money and your vote. A faith healer may cure you, or he may kill you. Know the difference. Do current events suggest that the four horsemen of the apocalypse are not far away?

About the Author

Bob Snider is a scientist and a Christian. He has often faced skepticism from both his church friends and his working colleagues that he could sincerely believe in both his work and his religion. Carefully examining their arguments, he found them almost always based on emotion, and rarely on reason. He finds such emotions deeply ingrained in or society. They interfere in our political process, and degrade our educational system. Bob was raised a Methodist in a formerly Mennonite family. He attended a Lutheran college, was married by a Baptist minister and assisted a Baptist missionary. In later life he has been a Presbyterian, and is an ordained elder in that church. He has served on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, and as Governor of a Kiwanis District. He now attends Catholic mass once or twice a month, and has worshipped God (the same God everywhere) in synagogues, mosques, and Buddhist temples. Bob has academic credits from twenty-three colleges and universities, and has taught courses in four of them. His degree in geophysical sciences is from the University of Alaska. He has pursued advanced studies in a variety of sciences at the U S Navy Postgraduate School, the University of Chicago, and the University of Michigan. A World War II veteran, Bob was ninety-one years old when he started working on this book. He is now crippled, deaf, and legally blind, but he is working on another book.
