About the Book

The little field mouse was sitting on a fence looking very sad. When a lady out walking came upon him, she asked him what was wrong and why he was so sad. He told her his little mice cousins were coming to visit him today, and the sun wasn’t shining. He really wanted the sun to shine. They had great plans to play outside. With that, the lady said, “Don’t be sad, you and I will visit the sun.” She took a magic back pack off her back and pulled out a magic ladder and told the little mouse to hop on. They soared up and up into the sky. The little field mouse had the biggest smile ever on his face, it went right back to his ears.

About the Author

Maureen O Hanlon was born and reared in the village of Liscarroll, Co. Cork, Ireland. She was reared in the beautiful countryside of Liscarroll, always playing in the meadows and fields, studying nature from a very young age. She has wonderful happy memories of her childhood. Maureen went on to get married to Richard O Hanlon in 1973 and had 6 children, 5 girls and 1 boy. She moved to Doneraile, Co. Cork with her husband and 1st child in 1974, where she now resides with her husband Richard. Her family have flown the nest but home is never far from their hearts and they always make their way home for Christmas and special occasions. Maureen has 6 beautiful grandchildren and hopefully more to come. They are her pride and joy. Her interest in story telling stemmed from telling made up stories to her children at bedtime, in which they were in awe waiting to know what happened next. She would start off with one sentence and the magical story would take off from there. Maureen also read them Ladybird books which were great stories. She also loved doing compositions in school. Her hobbies include oil painting and photography. Every day she travels around Doneraile wildlife park taking photos of the beautiful wildlife and sceneries. She is also a hairdresser.
