About the Book

My Pet Monkey Named Rue is a delightful and rhyming children’s story about a Boy who befriends a Blue Monkey and names him Rue. They have fun doing everything together until one day Rue causes trouble in the neighborhood. The boy realizes Rue can no longer live with him so he finds him a new home at Jed’s Circus Show. It is here where Rue meets other animals who are “different” too. There is Sam the Pink Elephant, Lindsey the Green Dog, and Anthony the striped Tiger had a color of red. Rue learns of the other animals parts in Jed’s Circus Show and he is given his own very special act to do in the show. The time comes for the boy to leave and he is sad to have to go, but he knows he can come back to see Rue anytime in Jed’s Circus Show. In fact, at the end of the story, the boy is handed some tickets to come back and to sit in the grand stand. My Pet Monkey Named Rue is about being “different” and being “loved”.
