Growing your business through the power of referrals starts with you. Referrals help everyone. If you are a solo-entrepreneur, small business owner, sales professional or working for a large corporation, referrals make success even more fun and easy. Developing a robust sustainable referral system within your network requires a giving mindset versus a taking mindset in order for everyone to succeed and prosper. If you focus on how you can help others, eventually the domino effect will reward you in return, as referrals from grateful referral partners start flowing your way.
Your relationships are the core of your referral network. Once you get the hang of the referral game, it will come naturally and easily to you and your referral partners. You will all start working smarter not harder by leveraging each other’s networks more effectively through the power of referrals.
Referrals open doors to opportunities that create strategic alliances with other people and businesses in your network. These alliances have the potential to lead to lucrative business deals and the formation of powerful partnerships. Optimizing and leveraging your relationships keeps you top of mind in other people’s networks so they are on the lookout for opportunities on your behalf.
If you want to change your life, job, or career, having a “Referral Mindset” can help you make those transitions smoother and easier. Mastering the art of connecting people through referrals helps you grow your network and your business.
You have a choice to live the life of your dreams or not. It takes courage, an open mind, being available to connect, and looking out for new opportunities that help you move forward in your career and life.
8 Reasons Why People are Dissatisfied in Their Jobs:
1. They are not appreciated
2. They are not encouraged or empowered to seek advancement opportunities
3. Low self-worth
4. Lack of confidence in their abilities
5. Unaware of other possibilities and opportunities
6. People Pleasing; doing what someone else wants them to do
7. Resigned and stuck in a rut with no exit plan
8. Work and family life imbalances from working too much
It’s wonderful to be successful in a career or business, but not at the expense of living a well balanced and fulfilling life that you love living. Life is not meant to be all work and no play. Gain clarity about what you want out of life. Start asking yourself questions that cause you to take a deeper look at your life and career path. Here are a few to help you get started:
• What is your definition of a great life?
• Do you envision yourself having your own business?
• Are you driven to make millions of dollars?
• What lifestyle do you aspire to live?
• What are you passionate about?
• How will you achieve your dream lifestyle and career?
My incredible life coach, Bob, helped me gain clarity about living my life on purpose. He helped me see that I am either living with conscious choice and intention, or in an unconscious manner on autopilot.
I realized that in order for me to live my life consciously I have to be present.
Option 1: Be-Do-Have: The Conscious Way
Living my life consciously helps me move forward in life with less effort and more ease. It helps me plug into the positive flow of energy that attracts positive people and unexpected miracles to happen in my life.
1. It all starts with “Being” present and conscious in order to align with what you desire.
2. “Doing” starts with “Being.” When you have the “Being” part down, it magnetizes good people, experiences, and opportunities into your life. The “Being” precedes the “Doing.”
3. Appreciate what you “Have”. An attitude of gratitude is the most powerful way to manifest your dreams.
Option 2. Do-Have-Be: The Unconscious Way
1. Trying to make things happen rather than letting things happen. “Doing” whatever it takes to force outcomes.
2. Trying to “Keep up with the Jones” and “Have” it all.
3. Surrender and give up as a last resort. “Being” resigned because you don’t know what else to do.
In the Unconscious Way, you come up against a lot of resistance by trying to make things happen, no matter what. Be aware that the more you resist, the more that thing persists. Right? By acknowledging and realizing your resistance, you are making peace with it by giving it space to just be. When you stop resisting and start accepting, life becomes more peaceful, pleasant, and easy.
The clearer you are about your dreams, the more the universe delivers on your behalf to bring your dreams to fulfillment. Resources can appear out of nowhere when you least expect them to give you the boost you need. Once you are conscious of where you want to go, take action, and start moving in that direction.
Try this simple fun exercise to expand your mind, creativity, and emotions. I learned this from Jean Houston, a brilliant thought leader, author, and creative genius:
1) Start by setting a timer for one-minute. Then shut your eyes. Imagine yourself traveling around the world.
2) Instant recall: Once the minute is up, stop and reflect on what that experience was like. Did it feel real? You just experienced a taste of traveling the world in your ‘mind’s eye.’ The emotional energy of connecting to that experience can fuel the energy for you to actually have that experience in reality.
3) Now do this same exercise. Set the timer for one minute to visualize your dream life, career, or whatever you are trying to achieve.
Jean talks about warping space and time by doing this exercise. Try it for a couple of minutes each day. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
