About the Author

Idella Washington Smith Wrote her first short story when she was nine years old. She cannot remember a time when she was not imagining stories in her head. Her first completed book was a MA thesis about jazz history in New Orleans. She grew up reading romantic fiction when she wasn’t reading books about American history. Bloodlines is romantic fiction with a subplot that uses a historic event. She had a great deal of fun writing about Jet and Adele and she hopes that her readers will find the characters as delightful as she does. Idella Washington Smith, grew up in rural Louisiana. Though she likes to travel, she would not live anywhere else in the world. She is a high school social studies teacher and loves to bring history alive in her classroom.
