David stepped quietly into the building to avoid arousing the ISIS Guards. He knew that, if he did, they would kill the Hostages. He continued slowly down the dark hallway to the next room, touched the locked door, and it opened. There were two Guards sitting at a table. Both guards noticed him and yelled "Who are you?" and drew their weapons! As David continued toward the hostages, the guards tried to grab him and the Shroud repelled them. Both Guards fired their weapons at David, but the Shroud stopped the bullets. As he opened the next locked door, he saw the Hostages lying on the floor. The Guards were still firing their weapons, but to no avail. He rushed over to the Hostages. All he had to do was touch them, and they would be protected by the Shroud. David told them, "Hold my hand, follow me, and you'll be safe." As he and the hostages left the building, the guards kept firing their guns, and threw grenades, but to nothing worked. The Shroud protected them. They quickly got into the van drove off to the extraction point.

About the Book
This is a story about a young man named David, who is given a miraculous gift that makes him invincible. He can’t be harmed or detained in any way. Because he is surrounded by an impenetrable barrier, he calls it the Shroud. David decides to use this gift for the sole purpose of achieving peace in the world. He has the ability to stop any form of violence yet cannot do anything offensive. Follow David and his wife as they discover the true power of the Shroud, learning bits and pieces along the way. Follow their struggle, as civilians, to find ways to use the Shroud to promote world peace. Along the way, they have no choice but to interact with the military, who sees the Shroud as a potential weapon. In their struggle to reach their goals, they use the Shroud on military missions, rescuing hostages, stopping civil wars, and dealing with terrorists. Can they succeed? Will they solve world peace?
About the Author
Gary is a fiction enthusiast who enjoys telling stories and loves to write. He attended California State University, Long Beach, majoring in industrial technology. Gary is a mechanical engineering and quality consultant who has written several published technical books, two of which are published by Prentice Hall. His first technical book has been a bestseller for almost thirty years. Gary was a sergeant in the US Marines and did a tour in Vietnam as a tactical air control radio operator. This book is Gary’s first fiction novel.
