About the Book

Konnie the katterfly is a children’s book about a caterpillar named Konnie who embarks on a journey to become a beautiful butterfly. During her journey, she will face many challenges. She will overcome obstacles and take flight with the help of her community. She will learn core values such as acceptance, discovery, and determination. Konnie learns that everything you truly need to fly comes from deep within. Teaching the significance of teamwork, family values and crafting new friendships, children will learn the true art of helping others. Konnie the Katterfly is colorful and full of life. Side effects may cause bonding, joy, and laughter.

About the Author

Jakima Swanson, a Detroit native, is a poet, children’s book author, and inspirational apparel designer. A conscious spirit who is known for her enlightened T-shirt designs with inspirational messages, such as “A life with no direction is a life led blind, yet where there is vision there is a path for excellence.” She aims to direct a message of love and evolve. She illuminates the universe with her effortless creativity through her inspirational writing, speech, and conscious apparel design. Jakima’s writing style puts you in a space where anything is possible while also leaving self-doubt behind. She allows you to look through the lens of sincerity, happiness, and limitless joy. She has hosted various workshops on self love, living with vision, and celebrating the spirit. She has worked with organizations such as Wayne State University EOC-TRIO and Full and Fabulous of Detroit. Jakima was given the Making a Difference Award by Wayne State University EOC-TRIO for her works at the annual sisters retreat. Her latest work is a children’s book, Konnie the Kattterfly, that will inspire the inner leader in young children. Jakima Swanson will become a household favorite.
