Jacob realized then, that Seth had so much more power behind his weapon, making him a formidable opponent compared to the demons, and had to quickly adjust. Fighting a Fallen Angel would take everything he had as he managed to block every thrust until Seth’s sword split into two. When Jacob swiftly blocked one, the other slashed him on his forearm.
Sarah gasped when she saw Jacob’s arm bleeding.
Seth stood there, taking his time to savor the moment.
Jacob examined his arm, and almost immediately the wound healed. He remembered the twins Tobias, and Tobit warning him, that Seth was tricky.
“When I am through with you, I will have my fun with her.” sneered Seth.
With a new scar on his arm, and that boastful remark, Jacob closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. He knew he had to control his anger if he wanted to defeat him, and when he opened his eyes, he was even more focused than before. Jacob charged his enemy again, and with all his strength delivered several strong blows.
Seth was the one struggling to keep up with him now. His arms seemed to give way with each stroke of Jacob’s sword. He was finally weakening, and Jacob took his chance.
Jacob blocked one sword with his blade, and grabbed Seth’s wrist before he could even swing the other, squeezing his wrist so hard the pain was apparent in his enemy’s face. Jacob stared into Seth’s eyes with such determination that he finally dropped the sword.
Seth quickly tore himself away from Jacob’s strong grasp. Angry at the humiliation, and knowing he was now on the verge of being obliterated, Seth shouted to the ten demons that were hiding, “Demon dogs, he is all yours!”
“Coward! It is typical of your kind to run from a fight.” scolded Jacob.
The demons started to creep slowly toward Jacob.
Seth on the other hand, took a couple of steps back, and then disappeared.
“Jacob!” Sarah cried out.
Jacob quickly turned, and realized that a demon was about to drag Sarah off into a dark shadow. Within those dark shadows, Sarah would be lost forever, and her soul powerless to escape the torments of the abyss. He wasted no time, he instantly came to her aid.
Sarah was bravely kicking the beast trying to loosen its grip. Jacob forcibly hit the creature with the back of his hand sending it flying, lending him time to lift Sarah up onto her feet.
As he surveyed the number of demons that surrounded them, ready to attack, he called out, “Caleb!!”
He held Sarah close to him as he did his best to fend them all away, but they began to inch closer baring their teeth, relishing the meal to come.
Sarah too held onto Jacob as tight as she could, their situation seemed doomed when out of nowhere appeared five fearless Angels, and quickly made a protective circle around them.
Sarah stared at them in awe. They were all so beautiful, but unmistakably warriors.
