CHAPTER 1 1 of 3 “Write the things which thou hast seen” Scripture Reference: Revelation 1:1-8 Introduction: The Bible says, “2 Timothy 3:1 - 5 [KJV] 1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” As we continue to see the prophesies of the Bible being fulfilled before our eyes, we cannot ignore the way that the name of Lord Jesus Christ is being used in a profane manner, the same way a vulgar person uses the “F_ _ _” word and the “S_ _ _” word. If we disrespect the name of Lord Jesus Christ, we will also disrespect Him and His authority. How we picture Lord Jesus Christ in our minds will determine how we will or will not serve Him. Every year during the Christmas season many professing Christians like to worship the physical birth of the incarnate Lord Jesus Christ, in the little town of Bethlehem, and there is nothing wrong with doing that, we should worship Lord Jesus Christ for every good reason that we can think of, but Lord Jesus Christ is not a baby anymore, lying in a manger. We need to worship Lord Jesus Christ for whom He is today and every day to come for eternity. We need to move from the baby picture of Lord Jesus Christ in our minds to the picture of a grown man and worship the grown up Lord Jesus Christ. The right view of Lord Jesus Christ is needed for us to serve and worship God correctly.
